QUESTION MEME KINDA!!!

Except mostly I have a hankering to sort characters into Sabra teams/nations.

If you didn't play/stalk Sabra, there were 17 regular teams (plus one special enforcement team split three ways). Each team tended to have a general personality you can reads about here.

Those sixteen teams were also the basis of the sixteen nations of the world's history. (ICly it's the reverse of that: the old nations were the basis of the teams.) You can see info on the nations here. Basically every nation was it's own super special snowflake, from the Steampunk Atheist Bibliocracy, to ~Crystal Towers~ full of sketchy political intrigue, nomadic desert mages, crazy swamp jerks, THERE ARE MANY OPTIONS.

ANYWAY IF YOU COMMENT HERE I will sort your character(s) into teams and/or nations at your preference. (Normally a team and nation would have the same answer buuuuut)

Also I will then ask you a question I guess. I just want to do some Sabra sorting y'all.

Ummm I am basically HALF AN INCH away from submitting an app for Trixie (who should totally thread with Aerta if I do hurr hurr :'D it would be so facepalm-worthy), but other than her and Seren, there's nobody else I'm really considering right now. This is all the info I currently have on Seren.

Rin on a team, depends on a timeframe specifically but I think she would have been Pyxis or Cygnus. She does have a lot of PUNCH INNA FACE!!! to her, but on the other hand she might be a little too . . . refined and competent for Pyxis. So she can go on Onee-Sama Team. Old Sabra prrrobably still Cygnus, yeah. I mean they were the sketchy nobility who built cities out of crystal that seems a pretty solid fit!!

Girlgamesh on a team I feel really would have had to be Lepus because that's the only team balls-out enough to deal with Emperor Nero. I mean yeah I guess she is red and punches people but no. She would have had fun on team of yandere psychos that would have supported her pantslessness as much as possible. Also: built-in minions. Yeah she's hella Lepus. Old Sabra wise, probably same deal, or maybe Lynx because they love conquering shit.

Tallkidu team-wise would have been one of those nice characters that could have fit well in probably like almost half the teams. Since he can be a good stabilizer, he could have gone to somewhere with other characters of similar personalities (probably Canis for nobility, or Pyxis for violence), but I could also see how he would have done well as a balance on a more volatile team. Some part of me really wants to say Orion? Obviously Lacerta would have cuddled him constantly too. Or Cetus probably could have used SOME voice of reason at some point. Why not this loli beastman?

Old Sabra it depends on how you were going to do the backstory. If he was still a clay doll the gods made he probably could have gone anywhere. There were beastmen made by Surgeon wandering around Orion, so he could have been one of them as well! Yeah in fact regardless of backstory I feel like Orions probably the right place. Lots of wilderness and fighting and a harsh environment, but also a lot of earnestness and loyalty.

So is playing pantless Saber everything you dreamed of and more?

OH AND QUESTIONS I heard like. apparently you have achieved maximum Messengerdere. HOWS THAT WORKING OUT?

PRET MUCH IT IS MAGICALMAGIC ALL THE TIME. The only thing that kind of sucks is the Servant mechanic but it isn't unique to her 8D; I PRETTY MUCH JUST ADORE PANTSLESS SABER SO . . . . *A* only magic.

IRIS IS MY FAVORITE THIS SURPRISES NO ONE but I worry that she's a little close to Aerta. Maybe if Aerta wigs out hard enough some day??? I also love Iskander super fucking hard, but I am pretty sure we are already getting an AMAZING ONE so.

I also spent the whole car ride from Seattle thinking "HOW CAN I APP JOAN OF ARC WITH SUPER POWERS" which I think would be kiiiiiind of like a Fate character. Yes I guess that is probably what I would want to do. Just like. Make a Fate semi-OC out of some historical figure what I love.

IS THERE A FATE CHARACTER I DON'T KNOW ABOUT THAT I SHOULD APP alternately what's up with Nero's servant mechanic?

... UH. WELL.

Most of the time it involves fantasy sequences of leaping out of third story windows, followed swiftly by lamentations at Thusia's lack of windows, quickly disrupted by having to hit Messenger in the face.

And by that I mean it's actually STUPIDLY SOMEHOW really good for both of them?? Like, they're both into that really deep, heavy emotional stuff, the kind that could (and has, in both their cases) make you go legit crazy. Yet their derp and fail and antics provides a much-needed distraction from that, along with the knowledge that they both sort of GET IT? They've mastered the art of unspoken understanding where that heavy stuff is concerned, so it's like solidarity without having to address it directly, which they both really need. Sort of like, "Yeah, we're both sinners who would be burning in hell, LET'S PAINT THIS WALL WITH RAINBOWS"

Basically they're simultaneously really alike and really different and balance each other quite perfectly. The whole thing is an accident but it's sort of a beautiful hilarious accident.

SO I MENTIONED TO NISHI ONCE I have this fantasy sequence of you apping villain!Messenger. HOW WOULD THAT GO.

But anyway the Prince would at first present himself as just some other bad end Messenger. Might even try to hide his actual name from real!Ptou (though being that Ptou is technically King now he might be able to get that out of him). The Prince would have the goal of recreating Sabra in Thusia, or at the very least ruling Thusia. Preferably both! He may or may not hook up with Eizon, but in any case would lie about it if he did.

MY PINGS ARE: crazy girls. I think a lot along the same line as your love of crazy girls. So duplicitous is good, violent is good, kind of genuinely tragic??? And yes just Aerta and the Meguka for now! She was a loner. She was also from LA where competition between Puella Magi can be pretty cutthroat, but she never got into any of the serious nastiness there, but knows about it. She would be super stoked to be on a team though, and might inform Mami that she is leader now, if they get a third one in.

HOW ABOUT AELLA?

FATE/EXTRA IS AN AU OF THE F/Z UNIVERSE where something something happened to the magic or something and now everything is kind of whacky.

The tournment for the Holy Grail takes place in a VR WORLD!!! If you die in VR you die in real life. And there is a 'weeding' process before you can get a Servant and join the war! The competition goes from 128 down to 2 people.

AS THE PROTAG you basically fail at the selection service and the lay there in agony dying and BEING LIKE NO I CAN'T DIE YET and then Saber is like :D :D :D HEYYY MASTERRRR. And contracts up. The Master and Servant grow through the tournament and Saber falls in love with her Master (I HAVE ONLY PLAY THE FEMPROTAG'S ROUTE??? But it is the same for the male protag too I think. I've heard Archer's romansu is gender dependent though)

There is definitely a love confession and they also have a FUCK THE SYSTEM WE LIKE EACH OTHER AS WE WANT!!! (Servants are supposed to be loyal to the System over their Mastersin F/E).

Uhhh so the Holy Grail is basically a giant computer that can SEE THE PAST AND FUTUREAND BLAH BLAH. The 'Moon Cell' and the Holy Grail War s run by SE.RA.PH.

How did you decide to modify the Aeris we saw in the original Old Sabra event to the Aerta we see now?

UHM UHM "regrets" is hard to say because part of the curse was . . . she didn't . . . have any concept of not wanting to be cursed. Like yup she was a tool and did unpleasant things but she was a tool for important necessary things so WHELP. And well she suspects she actually didn't really have as much self-determination leading up to the event as some might think. She kind of regrets that Sabra didn't roll over and die like it should have? Oh and she regrets believing Heron that she could live happily with him. That was a lie and he is a jerk.

Which Gilgamesh is dumbest from Enkidu's perception right now? Do you expect this to change?

WELL THE FIRST THING I WANTED TO DO WAS GIVE HER A CURSE THAT ACTUALLY MADE SENSE FOR HER WORLD AND PLACE IN IT. Since frankly durring the event she was pretty solidly Aeris. Very little distinction besides being from a different environment. Since we HAD firmly established that they were marked by Surgeon and Weaver, I set about the task of "what is something that Weaver could do to someone that would suck and be interesting to play with" and we had already established that Aerta was . . . capricious with who she would heal, and would never justify her choices. So it made since that Weaver was the one dictating those choices. Taking a hit to the free will made way more sense than ~hearing the dead~. It fit the world and frankly it gave me something really interesting to work with!

A lot of the rest was replacing personality developed in Midgar with personality developed in Lacerta. So there are other difference like Aeris seems to always be aware of power dynamic, and actively seeks to keep herself safe. That's not something Aerta really notices or cares about. Aerta doesn't dance around sexuality, she's pretty blatant about it. Aerta is also totally unafraid of losing herself to greater powers, something that I think especially as a younger person really scared Aeris. Aeris has a lot more . . . individual will than Aerta. She's much more heroic and responsible, and owns her choices. Like she really does think of herself as the savior of the planet, and accepts that role, and chose to embrace it. Aerta's role was forced on her, and even if she becomes someone with a whole lot of agency in Thusia will still think of it more as "well this is the kind of person I am that is why I behave this way" as opposed to Aeris who I think would say more like "I chose to live up to my lineage."

It made all of the sense, yes!

Hm… I don't think she knows that there's a contract involved, but there is NO WAY she's missed the rest of the whole. Thing. With Gilgamesh. AND SHE DOESN'T REALLY APPROVE because damnit Aerta that guy broke Gian's wrist. The only reason she hasn't said anything is because she's been busy and distracted, and in that time it… doesn't look like anything too horrible has happened… So there's lots of side-eyeing and mrrrr, but she isn't stepping in because EVEN IF AERTA IS DUMB ABOUT FREE WILL she's also Aerta and. As long as she's safe and Gil doesn't douche it up to anybody in the apartment, Aella's kind of willing to let it slide? The second he steps out of line she will punch him repeatedly in the nuts. A lot.

idek specifics, that requires more thinky thoughts than I have, but Messenger has sort of worked up this reputation in Thusia (among the residents AND gods) of being this mostly harmless troll. So if a second one rolled in and looked/acted more or less identical, especially with all the doubles we already have, I don't think most people would really think twice about it?? So he could coast off those expectations and worm his way in with gods and people alike and have all these strings to pull as a result.

BASICALLY HE COULD FUCK EVERYONE OVER BLIND because they would not expect it or see it coming...ever. Whether it's an actual legit doom plot or just really srs business trolling, idk. MAYBE BOTH.

Also, I dunno, haiku contests, pun battles, squidrat fisticuffs?? WHICH ONE IS THE REAL SQUIDRAT, WHICH ONE DO WE BOTTLE?!?!
