Gosh! Not... even remotely! Part and parcel with her whole . . . bad at personal responsibility is that she doesn't really expect the same of others. Aerta is very, very rarely judgmental of people, and even when she does make judgements it's always sort of value-neutral observation. So she will judge Gilgamesh as short-sighted and greedy, but not as villainous. She judges Tempest as wrathful and cruel but not as bad. To her, people are just people. They are all going to have vices and weaknesses, some of which may be dangerous to the world or to themselves but that's . . . just how they are! Some of them she loves, some of them she doesn't, some of them hate her but she doesn't necessarily believe that the people she loves are somehow better and the people that she doesn't love are worse. They're just people that by whatever twist of fate she has some to know, and people who's fates have not crossed her own.
The flipside of that is that if someone is one of her people and one of the people she loves, there's not really much they can do to change that. I mean, I guess if she found out someone had a really awful side of themselves she didn't know about ( or wasn't willing to face Gilgamesh...) that might change her feelings, but it's not like "Chrys is a bit crazy" makes any big change for her. What she knows about him is that he is kind, he is dedicated and that he has been horribly tortured in ways she can't possibly imagine for longer than she dares ask.
Her love for Chrys, it's not because she thinks Chrys is a good person, or because she thinks he is someone she can save. What the fuck does she know about good people, or saving jack shit? She knows that they are bound by fate and blood, and that's what's important to her. She's asked about how he's doing simply out of concern for him. She doesn't really care what he did or why that started everything. She's worried because it seems uncharacteristic, but she understands that there's things inside him that she isn't ready to understand. What she wants is to be with him, and lessen his burdens if she can. And like we've already talked about, their current relationship is so based on like. Mutual understanding that they are only together in the way they are because everything has gone to shit so what the fuck else are they going to do? that a little extra going to shit here and there doesn't make much of a fucking difference to her.
To her, losing his shit and lashing out against a Judge whether it's personal or PTSD or what the fuck ever drives him, it makes sense to her on an animal level. She wouldn't ever say it to him, because she knows how much the thought would insult him, but to her he is one some levels a wounded animal- that's not something she loses respect for, not in the least! But his behavior even if irrational is consistent with that read of him. It's sad because it's ended up causing them pain, but it's not surprising or disappointing. She mostly is just wishing that he wasn't hurting because of it.
